Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. For budget travelers, we recommend the Outpost Lodge; for midrange, the Arusha Planet Lodge; and for luxury, the Arusha Coffee Lodge. Enjoy a relaxing evening, preparing for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay with dinner included.
Day 2: Arusha to Rongai Gate (Altitude: 1,950m) to First Cave (Altitude: 2,600m)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Rongai Gate, the starting point of the Rongai Route. Complete registration formalities before beginning your trek through lush rainforests. Cover approximately 6 km in 3-4 hours, ascending gently to First Cave. Dinner and overnight stay at First Cave. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 3: First Cave to Kikelewa Camp (Altitude: 3,600m)
Continue your ascent through the rainforest, with the trail gradually becoming steeper as you approach Kikelewa Camp. Cover approximately 9 km in 5-6 hours, enjoying panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s slopes. Dinner and overnight stay at Kikelewa Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (Altitude: 4,330m)
Ascend further towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp, nestled beneath the towering peaks of Mawenzi. Cover approximately 8 km in 4-5 hours, with the trail offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Dinner and overnight stay at Mawenzi Tarn Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Take a well-deserved rest day at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, allowing your body to acclimatize to the altitude. Explore the surrounding area or simply relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Dinner and overnight stay at Mawenzi Tarn Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut (Altitude: 4,700m)
Resume your ascent towards the summit, trekking to Kibo Hut, your final base camp before the summit bid. Cover approximately 9 km in 5-6 hours, with the trail becoming steeper and more challenging. Dinner and rest at Kibo Hut in preparation for the summit attempt. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 7: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (Altitude: 5,895m) to Horombo Hut (Altitude: 3,720m)
Rise before dawn for the summit bid, trekking to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Cover approximately 6 km in 6-8 hours, navigating steep and challenging terrain. Witness the sunrise from the roof of Africa before descending to Horombo Hut. Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo Hut. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 8: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate (Altitude: 1,860m) to Arusha
Descend through lush rainforests to Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates. Cover approximately 20 km in 5-6 hours, celebrating your achievement along the way. Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest at your chosen accommodation. Overnight stay with dinner included. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, bid farewell to Arusha as you transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of an unforgettable journey. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
