Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your chosen accommodation in Arusha. For budget travelers, we recommend the Outpost Lodge; for midrange, the Arusha Planet Lodge; and for luxury, the Arusha Coffee Lodge. Spend the day relaxing and preparing for the adventure ahead. Day 2: Arusha to Machame Gate (Altitude: 1,800m) to Machame Camp (Altitude: 3,000m)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Machame Gate, the starting point of the Machame Route. Begin your trek through dense rainforests, covering approximately 11 km in 5-7 hours. The trail gradually ascends, offering glimpses of exotic flora and fauna. Arrive at Machame Camp for dinner and overnight stay. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (Altitude: 3,840m)
Today’s hike takes you through moorlands and scenic vistas, covering 5 km in 4-6 hours. Ascend to Shira Plateau, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Dinner and overnight stay at Shira Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (Altitude: 3,960m)
Trekking through high alpine deserts, you’ll cover 10 km in 6-8 hours, with a gradual ascent to Lava Tower (Altitude: 4,630m) before descending to Barranco Camp. Traverse rocky terrain and towering cliffs, marveling at the rugged beauty of Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight stay at Barranco Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (Altitude: 4,035m)
Ascend the Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble that rewards you with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Covering 5 km in 4-5 hours, the trail winds through picturesque valleys and rocky outcrops. Arrive at Karanga Camp for dinner and overnight stay. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (Altitude: 4,640m)
Today’s trek is relatively short but steep, covering 4 km in 4-5 hours. Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit bid. The landscape transitions to barren slopes and rocky terrain as you prepare for the final push to Uhuru Peak. Dinner and rest at Barafu Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (Altitude: 5,895m) to Mweka Camp (Altitude: 3,100m)
Rise before dawn for the summit attempt, trekking 5 km to Uhuru Peak in 7-8 hours. Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise from the roof of Africa before descending 12 km to Mweka Camp. The descent is steep and challenging, requiring careful footing. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweka Camp. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (Altitude: 1,640m) to Arusha
Complete the final descent through lush rainforests, covering 10 km in 3-4 hours. Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates.
